ECUST Review Article of AI-assisted Polymer Material Design Selected as ACS Editors’ Choice

Recently, the research team of Professor Lin Jiaping from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, ECUST, was invited to publish a review entitled “Machine Learning-Assisted Design of Advanced Polymeric Materials” in the Accounts of Materials Research, a top journal of the American Chemical Society. With its important scientific value and leading role in its field, this review was selected as a highlight article in ACS Editors’ Choice column of American Chemical Society. The review article is first-authored by Associate Professor Gao Liang of the School of Materials Science, and is corresponding authored by Professor Lin Jiaping.

This review systematically sorts out the research ideas and methods of applying new artificial intelligence paradigms such as machine learning and data driving to design advanced polymer materials, summarizes the representative work of Professor Lin Jiaping’s research team of ECUST in recent years, the challenges faced by applying new paradigms to polymer materials research, and puts forward possible solutions and future development directions.
