Academician of British Royal Academy of Engineering Invited to Give Academic Report in ECUST

Recently, Professor Zhang Zhibing of the University of Birmingham, an Academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and was invited to give an academic report entitled “Soft Micro-sized Particles and Their Applications in Formulated Products” to the teachers and students of the School of Chemical Engineering, ECUST. The report was presided over by Professor Zhao Ling from the School of Chemical Engineering.

In the report, based on the theory of microcapsule technology embedded with active substances, Zhang Zhibing elaborated in detail the slow release characteristics of active substances in microcapsule technology and the experimental instruments and methods for testing the mechanical strength of microcapsules. He also introduced in detail the team's research work in developing experimental devices for characterization and testing of microcapsule technology, and successfully applying microcapsule technology in the fields of medicine, detergent and oral care. After the report, Professor Zhang Zhibing patiently answered questions about how to control the strength of microcapsules, and encouraged students to lay a solid foundation, keep enterprising spirit and cultivate the ability of continuous learning and he also welcome students to do exchange studies in the University of Birmingham, UK.
