Nucleic Acids Research Publishes ECUST New Progress of Yeast Biosynthesis System

Recently, the research team of Cai Menghao of the School of Bioengineering, ECUST has made important progress in the biosynthesis system of Pichia pastoris, and by designing a new flexible and controllable artificial transcription device library, the fine expression control of natural drug synthesis pathway has been realized. The related achievements were published online in Nucleic Acids Research with the title of “Yeast transcriptional device libraries enable precise synthesis of value-added chemicals from methanol”.

The research article is first authored by Zhu Qiaoyun, a doctoral candidate of ECUST and is corresponding authored by Associate Professor Cai Menghao. The research work has been funded by the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Rising Star, and Shanghai optogenetics Frontier Science Research Base of Cell Metabolism.
