German Journal of Applied Chemistry Publishes ECUST New Progress of Reaction Kinetics Guiding Catalyst Design
Recently, Professor Duan Xuezhi and Dr. Chen Wenyao from the School of Chemical Engineering, Joint State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering of our university analyzed the carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning effect of platinum catalyst at the molecular level, successfully distinguished two key parameters of D-band hole and D-band center energy of platinum in d-band theory, and quantified their effects on CO activation and competitive adsorption of CO and H2 respectively. The related research article was published in German Applied Chemistry under the title of “Molecular-level insights into the unknown co poisoning of platinum catalyst”.
The research work received careful guidance from Academician Yuan Weikang, Professor Zhou Xinggui and Academician De Chen of Norwegian University of Science and Technology. This research work has been financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Major Research Program Integration Project and the Outstanding Young Talents Science Fund Project, the Major Natural Science Project of Scientific Research and Innovation Program of Shanghai Education Commission, the Bo Xin Program of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and Shanghai Super Postdoctoral Incentive Program.
