Journal of American Chemical Society Publishes ECUST Research Progress on Application of Dynamic Covalent Reversible Disulfide Polymer Materials
In recent years, the research teams of Academician Tian He and Professor Qu Dahui of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, ECUST and Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center, ECUST have developed a series of dynamic supramolecular materials based on natural micromolecule lipoic acid, and have made a series of progress in self-healing elastomers, orderly assembly of polymer films, chemical recovery of polymers and so on. Based on the previous leading work in this field, the research teams of Academician Tian He and Professor Qu Dahui were invited to publish a Perspective article “Disulfide-Mediated Reversible Polymerization Tower Intrinsically Dynamic Smart Materials” in Journal of American Chemical Society, summarizing and prospecting a series of work on materials application of dynamic covalent reversible polymerization of sulfur dioxide.
The research work was mainly completed by Dr. Zhang Qi, under the academic guidance of Academician Tian He, Professor Qu Dahui and Professor Ben L. Feringa. The research work was financially supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Frontier Science Center of Ministry of Education of Materials Biology and Dynamic Chemistry, Shanghai Science and Technology Major Project, Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, and Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center.
